Living Alongside Substance Use
LASU consists of services designed specifically for individuals who are affected by someone else's alcohol or drug use.
The impact of substance use affects the lives of those around the substance user in a range of both practical and emotional ways. It can also become very isolating as the stigmas that can surround substance use and addiction cause people to remain silent and keep the secret. Talking to others can offer immense support, reduce isolation and help to build a range of healthier coping strategies.
LASU provides psycho-education workshops, individual counselling sessions and a weekly support group held at a venue in the centre of Salisbury.
I have extensive experience of working with family members of substance user's and was a member of the Action on Addiction Families Team for Sixteen Years. You can also find information about LASU at
